Design Variations

Make the front out of two contrast fabrics On this bag, a ribbon embellishment is sewn over the join in the two fabrics. Use the flap of the bag as a "canvas" for textile embellishments These bags have applique' and machine embroidered designs on the flap.
 
Use plastic handles instead of a strap This Baguette has Fast2Fuse to make it more rigid and box-like.

Use medium-light interfacing for a smoother surface on the fabric when using Fast2Fuse.

This handbag has plastic handles and 14mm Magnetic snaps. There is an internal zip pocket .

Use one plastic handle behind the flap. Narrow ribbon is stitched around the curve of the flap.

    60cm iron-on woven interfacing

    55cm x 90cm OR 115cm lining fabric

    1 OR 2 x 14mm magnetic catches
