Large Tote & Satchel with variations

Pattern No. BO331 - $19.95

This bag makes a functional carryall or satchel, and is a perfect "canvas" for embellishing with your own unique designs.

As with the Small Tote, you will learn the fundamentals of making handbags as well as how to vary the original pattern to create your own designs (by varying the straps, handles, rings etc or adding a flap to the bag).

MATERIALS LIST - What you will need

Cotton drill satchel with embellished flap and strap with d-rings

This bag has medium-light interfacing on it, and there is template plastic in the base.

Rose print fabric bag softly gathers with a strap threaded through belt-loops around the top edge.

Medium-light interfacing and light fusible wadding (630) create "stand-up" structure with softness. It has a structured Vilene S520 base in the base.

Plain black cotton drill bag is made with a printed flap and print on part of the strap. The strap is made adjustable with oblong rings and flat square slide adjusters.

This bag has medium-light interfacing on it, and Fast2Fuse is in the base

Japanese print fabric bag with plain fabric overlay on the base has a strap threaded through large grommets at the top edge. The strap is joined with a flat o-ring.

Medium-heavy interfacing and light fusible wadding (630) create "stand-up" structure. It has Vilene S520 base in the base.

Black cotton drill tote bag with a print fabric overlay has webbing straps and plastic fittings.

The fabric has medium-light interfacing on it, and medium fusible wadding. There is template plastic and purse feet in the structured base.

Straps are attached to the outside of the bag, and the top section of the tote is allowed to fold over.

This bag has medium-light interfacing to give it soft structure, and large d-rings in the straps.

Cammo print, polypropylene webbing and plastic fittings
give this satchel a "military" look.

This bag is made in upholstery fabric, and only has interfacing in the facing. It has a soft, unstructured base.

Use the tote as a 'canvas' for creative fabric embellishments

This bag is a lesson in using good interfacings and re-enforcing magnetic snaps.... Its non-woven interfacing has deteriorated with age.

A wide strap and leather trim are used on this satchel, made of chenille-striped upholstery fabric.

This fabric is a thick upholstery fabric - it only has interfacing in the facing and flap, and template plastic in the base.
