Makes a slim-line daytime bag or a cute kid's handbag. The bag can be made with or without a flap, with a long strap or with shorter handles.

You will learn to construct a bag with a curved gusset - which can be a bit tricky. There are lots of tips to help you achieve good results with this!

MATERIALS LIST - What you will need

 

Make the front out of two contrast fabrics
On this bag, a ribbon embellishment is sewn over the join in the two fabrics.
Use the flap of the bag as a "canvas" for textile embellishments
These bags have applique' and machine embroidered designs on the flap.
 
Use plastic handles instead of a strap
This Baguette has stiff iron-on interfacing called Fast2Fuse, to make it more rigid and box-like.

Use medium-light interfacing for a smoother surface on the fabric when using Fast2Fuse.

This handbag has plastic handles and 14mm Magnetic snaps. There is an internal zip pocket .

Use one plastic handle behind the flap. Narrow ribbon is stitched around the curve of the flap.
